Amazon's AI advancements for Alexa and beyond.

Amazon is developing a more "generalized and capable" large language model (LLM) to power Alexa, according to CEO Andy Jassy. The improved LLM will help Amazon work towards its goal of building "the world's best personal assistant." Jassy believes that the advent of large language models and generative AI will accelerate the possibility of building that personal assistant. Amazon has invested in AI and LLMs for years and recently launched Bedrock to help small companies build generative AI-powered apps. Other major tech companies, including Apple, Google, Microsoft, and Meta, are also investing in large language models.
