GM Recalls Hundreds of Vehicles for Takata Air Bag Inflator Explosions

General Motors is recalling nearly 900 vehicles worldwide due to the risk of Takata air bag inflators exploding, potentially causing harm to drivers and passengers. The recall includes various models such as the Chevrolet Camaro, Sonic, Volt, and Buick Verano. This comes after a driver air bag inflator in a 2013 Chevrolet Camaro ruptured in Brazil. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has stated that dealers will replace the driver-side air bag module at no cost. Takata air bags have been linked to numerous deaths and injuries, making it the largest auto recall in history. General Motors had previously disputed the need for a recall but has now taken action.
