Honda accelerates plans for US-bound EV launch.

Honda plans to release its first e:Architecture-based electric vehicle in North America in 2025, a year earlier than originally planned. The vehicle will feature a new, in-house operating system that allows for continuous advancement of vehicle functions and services. Honda has relied on GM to develop its EVs so far, but this new vehicle will be based on its own platform, which emphasizes software and over-the-air updates. The mid- to large-size EV model will disappoint those hoping for a smaller electric car option.
