Tesla’s 11th Cybertruck Recall Linked to Wheel-Stud Cracks From Wrong Grease

Tesla has issued its 11th Cybertruck recall, affecting Rear-Wheel-Drive Long Range models due to wheel-stud cracks caused by the wrong grease used on lug nuts, which could lead to wheel detachment under stress. The NHTSA notes that cracked stud holes in the wheel rotor could allow a stud to separate from the hub, and Tesla will replace the wheel hubs, rotors, and lug nuts free of charge for 173 affected trucks. The issue arises from a specific grease shipment and affects trucks built on certain dates with 18-inch wheels, highlighting ongoing quality-control challenges for the electric pickup.
