Nearly 100 planes belonging to major airlines, including American and Southwest, have been found to contain fake airplane parts from a dubious company called AOG Technics. The company, which had fake employees and a fake address, sold and distributed these fake parts to airlines around the world. The scandal has caused flight delays and cancellations, adding to the challenges already faced by the airline industry. Regulators and airlines are now working to track down the fraudulent parts, which were used to repair jet engines made by CFM International. CFM is suing AOG Technics to uncover the extent of the fraud. The European Aviation Safety Agency and the FAA have issued notices about the bogus parts. AOG Technics' founder, Jose Alejandro Zamora Yrala, has created several fake LinkedIn profiles and his businesses have operated in an unusual manner.
