American Airlines Cuts Over 650 Customer Support Jobs

American Airlines is eliminating over 320 positions in North Texas as part of a reconfiguration of its customer service team, affecting nearly 700 employees. The airline plans to create a new Customer Success team to provide elevated support to customers with complex travel needs. Impacted employees, who are not represented by a union, can apply for other job openings within the company and will be offered severance payment if they do not find employment elsewhere. The reorganization also affects 335 workers in Phoenix, and the affected employees will continue to work and be paid through March 30.
