Anheuser-Busch is reportedly laying off hundreds of employees after Bud Light lost its position as the top-selling U.S. beer for the second consecutive month. The company stated that less than 2% of its U.S. workforce will be affected, amounting to approximately 380 positions. The sales decline follows a consumer boycott in response to Bud Light partnering with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney. The layoffs will not impact front-line workers such as brewery and warehouse employees. Anheuser-Busch CEO Brendan Whitworth stated that the corporate structure changes will enable the company to focus on brewing great beer.
