Delta Expands LAX Footprint With Monterey and Philadelphia Routes in Record Schedule

Delta Air Lines is launching its largest-ever schedule at Los Angeles International (LAX), adding Monterey (MRY) and Philadelphia (PHL) as new nonstop routes and increasing frequencies to seven existing destinations, bringing peak-day departures to more than 200 and nearly 70 destinations for summer 2027. The expansion includes MRY twice daily starting Dec. 19, 2026; PHL daily starting June 7, 2027; and higher service to RDU, BOS, SAN, CVG, IAH, SAT, and SEA (with Salt Lake City–Monterey launching the same day), as Delta markets itself as LAX’s leading carrier with upgraded lounges and premium seating, while facing ongoing competition from United, American, Alaska, and Southwest.
