Elizabeth Holmes denied appeal to stay out of prison.

Elizabeth Holmes, founder of the now-defunct blood-testing start-up Theranos, must begin serving her more-than-11-year sentence on April 27 after a federal judge denied her latest attempt to stay out of prison while she appeals her fraud convictions for misleading investors. Though Judge Edward Davila ruled that Holmes is not a danger to the community or likely to flee, he wrote that the court was “unable to find that she has raised a ‘substantial question of law or fact’ that if ‘determined favorably to [her] on appeal’” is likely to result in a reversal or new trial.
