Target Removes Black History Month Product After Misidentifying Civil Rights Icons

Target has decided to stop selling a product dedicated to Civil Rights icons after a TikTok video revealed significant errors in the magnetic learning activity, which misidentified Carter G. Woodson, W.E.B. DuBois, and Booker T. Washington. The high school teacher who posted the video, Tierra Espy, purchased the product and quickly noticed the discrepancies, prompting her to share the errors online. Target confirmed the removal of the product and stated that the publisher has been made aware of the errors. Despite the removal, neither Target nor the product's publisher has reached out to Espy, who emphasized the importance of reviewing products before making them available to consumers.
