Amazon Manager Sentenced to 16 Years in Prison for $9 Million Theft Scheme

Kayricka Wortham, a former operations manager at an Amazon warehouse in Georgia, has been sentenced to 16 years in prison for leading a group that stole $9.4 million from the company. Wortham used her position to approve fake vendors and invoices, transferring money to bank accounts controlled by her and her co-conspirators. She used the stolen funds to buy a million-dollar home, luxury cars, and expensive jewelry. Wortham's accomplice, Brittany Hudson, has also been indicted on charges of conspiracy, wire fraud, and money laundering. Other individuals involved in the scheme, including an Amazon loss prevention employee and a human resources assistant, have pleaded guilty and await sentencing.
