BlackRock Engages with SEC and Nasdaq on Bitcoin ETF Listings

Representatives from BlackRock, Nasdaq, and the SEC have met to discuss rule changes necessary for listing a spot bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF). The meeting focused on Nasdaq's proposed rule change to list and trade shares of the iShares Bitcoin Trust. Analysts predict that a combination of factors, including expected demand from ETFs, the upcoming reward halving, and growth in broader stock markets, could push bitcoin prices to at least $50,000 in the short term. MicroStrategy's Executive Chairman, Michael Saylor, believes that the introduction of spot bitcoin ETFs could be the most significant development on Wall Street in 30 years. Weekly trading volume on Korean crypto exchanges has reached a year-to-date high, with altcoins dominating the market.
