BlackRock is reportedly close to filing an application for a bitcoin ETF, which will use Coinbase Custody for offline storage and the exchange's spot market data for pricing. The move comes amid increased scrutiny from the SEC on alleged securities law violations in the cryptocurrency industry, including lawsuits against Coinbase and Binance. BlackRock did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
