Tesla to Construct Megapack Factory in Shanghai for EV Production

Tesla is building a new Megafactory in Shanghai to manufacture its commercial Megapack battery energy storage units, with the goal of producing about 10,000 systems per year. The Megapack is designed for major commercial projects and is currently produced at Tesla's Gigafactory in Nevada. The move follows Tesla's goal of building "a sustainable energy civilization" and will allow the company to build more Megapack energy storage units for various utility and renewable energy projects locally and worldwide.
