Climate activists disrupted Shell's annual shareholder meeting in London, calling for the company to "shutdown Shell" and demanding more action on climate change. Shell said the protesters were not interested in constructive engagement, but reiterated its target of net-zero emissions by 2050. Campaign groups are calling for more ambitious targets and a focus on renewables. The protesters were allowed in the room as activist shareholders. The meeting was delayed and some protesters had to be carried out by security. Investors will vote on pay packages, including that of outgoing CEO Ben van Beurden, who received $12m in 2022.
