Some Social Security recipients will receive a double payment this month as the June SSI payment is rescheduled to May 31 due to June 1 falling on a Saturday. This rescheduling will occur three more times this year. The maximum monthly SSI payments are $943 for individuals and $1,415 for couples, with adjustments made annually based on inflation. Representative Ruben Gallego is proposing legislation to change how the COLA is calculated to better reflect the expenses of older and vulnerable people.
