Wealth Perception Gap: Baby Boomers vs. Gen Z and Millennials
A survey conducted by Charles Schwab found that respondents believe it takes an average net worth of $2.2 million to be considered wealthy, but nearly half of respondents already feel wealthy with an average net worth of just $560,000. The survey also found that respondents don't associate wealth solely with monetary possessions, with many saying that being able to enjoy healthy relationships with loved ones better describes wealth than having a lot of money. Baby Boomers and Gen Z have different perceptions of wealth, with Boomers valuing experiences and not having financial stress, while Gen Z equates wealth with maintaining a lifestyle similar to that of their friends.
