ADHD Medication Zenzedi Recalled for Pill Mix-Up and Mislabeled Bottles

Azurity Pharmaceuticals has recalled its 30-milligram dextroamphetamine sulfate tablets, sold under the brand name Zenzedi, after an antihistamine drug, carbinoxamine maleate, was found mixed in with the ADHD medication. The two medications have opposite effects, with dextroamphetamine sulfate being a stimulant and carbinoxamine maleate having a sedative effect. Patients who unknowingly take carbinoxamine instead of Zenzedi could experience adverse events, including drowsiness and CNS depression, posing an increased risk of accidents or injury. Patients with recalled products are advised to stop using them and return to the place of purchase.
