Eli Lilly's Alzheimer's drug shows promising results in slowing cognitive decline.

Eli Lilly's experimental drug, donanemab, has shown to "significantly slow cognitive and functional decline" in people with early symptomatic Alzheimer's disease, according to the TRAILBLAZER-ALZ 2 Phase 3 study. The drug slowed cognitive decline by 35% compared to placebo, resulting in 40% less decline in the ability to perform daily activities at 18 months. Participants on donanemab experienced a 39% lower risk of progressing to the next stage of the disease compared with those on the placebo. Eli Lilly plans to submit the drug for FDA approval this quarter.
