Taylor Farms recalls jalapeño–containing items after salmonella concerns

Taylor Farms has issued a recall for multiple products that include jalapeño peppers across 26 states due to potential salmonella contamination. Affected items, including salsas, dips, and sandwiches, were sold at Kroger, Target, Trader Joe’s, Walmart, Whole Foods, and other retailers; consumers should discard recalled products with Best If Used By dates up to Aug 16 and can obtain refunds at the point of purchase. The jalapeños were supplied by Coast Citrus Distributors, the same supplier linked to a multistate salmonella outbreak affecting Chipotle and Qdoba; FDA says there is no ongoing risk from the restaurants. Symptoms of salmonella are typical gastrointestinal issues, and prevention includes thorough handwashing and separating raw and ready-to-eat foods.
