Sanofi joins insulin price cut trend, caps cost at $35 per month.

Sanofi, the last of the three major insulin makers in the US, announced that it will cap the out-of-pocket cost of its most popular insulin, Lantus, at $35 per month for people with private insurance starting January 1, 2024. The French drugmaker will also lower the list price of Lantus by 78% and its short-acting insulin Apidra by 70%. The move comes after Eli Lilly and Novo Nordisk announced changes to how they price their insulin this month. The three drugmakers make up roughly 90% of the insulin market in the US.
