US Agency Raises Concerns Over H-1B Visa Lottery Abuse and Fraud.

The computerised lottery system used to select successful H-1B visa applicants has resulted in abuse and a sharp increase in fraudulent efforts, according to the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). The agency has already undertaken extensive fraud investigations and is in the process of initiating law enforcement referrals for criminal prosecution. USCIS is working on an upcoming H-1B modernisation rule that will propose improvements to reduce the possibility of misuse and fraud in the H-1B registration system.
