Auto workers and Stellantis reach tentative contract deal, following Ford's model

Stellantis, the parent company of Jeep, reached a tentative contract agreement with the United Auto Workers (UAW) union, following the model set by Ford. The deal, which still needs to be ratified by members, mirrors the agreement with Ford and includes wage increases, cost-of-living pay, and job-saving measures at a factory in Belvidere, Illinois. However, the UAW walked out at a General Motors (GM) factory in Tennessee to increase pressure on the company to reach a deal. GM is now the only automaker without an agreement with the union.
