Auto Workers in Louisville and Flint Reject Labor Contracts with Ford and GM

Rank-and-file Ford workers in Louisville, Kentucky, voted against the proposed UAW contract, with 55% of production workers and 69% of skilled trades workers opposing the deal. This goes against the national trend, as about 70% of workers in other locations have favored the contract. The proposed deal includes an immediate 11% pay raise for auto workers, growing to 25% over the four-year contract, and an accelerated path to standard wages for younger workers. However, it does not restore traditional defined-benefit pensions for workers hired after 2007.
