UAW Successfully Organizes Volkswagen Plant in Tennessee

The United Auto Workers (UAW) announced that over 30% of workers at Volkswagen's plant in Chattanooga, Tennessee, have signed union authorization cards in less than a week, surpassing the threshold needed to pursue a National Labor Relations Board election. If 50% of workers sign authorization cards, the UAW plans to hold a rally, and if it receives 70% support, it will demand recognition from the company. The UAW's campaign aims to organize workers at 13 non-union automakers across the US and build off the momentum of recent contracts secured with the Detroit Three.
