McDonald's Franchises in Texas and Louisiana Face Child Labor Violations

McDonald's franchise locations in the New Orleans area, operated by CLB Investments LLC, have been found to have committed dozens of child labor violations. Federal investigators discovered that 72 workers aged 14 to 15 were made to work longer hours than allowed under child labor laws, and workers under 16 were operating manual deep fryers, which is illegal. Similar violations were also found at four franchise locations in Texas. The Department of Labor fined CLB Investments LLC $56,106 in civil penalties. This is not the first time McDonald's franchise locations have been found to have broken child labor laws, with violations involving over 300 children at 62 locations across four states announced in May.
