Tesla faces racial discrimination lawsuit as jury selection commences.

Jury selection has begun for a racial discrimination lawsuit against Tesla by a former Black worker who claims he was subjected to a hostile work environment at the company's Fremont factory. The plaintiff, Owen Diaz, is seeking compensatory and punitive damages after alleging that colleagues repeatedly called him racist slurs and drew racist caricatures and swastikas. Diaz and his lawyers rejected a $15 million payout last June, which Judge William Orrick reduced from a jury-awarded $137 million damages. Tesla has historically denied any wrongdoing.
