Broadcom Launches Second Generation Wi-Fi 7 Silicon at Lower Cost.

Broadcom has announced its second-generation Wi-Fi 7 platform, which aims to address cost-effectiveness and achieve competitive parity. The new platform includes dual 2x2 configuration access point platforms, which can operate in all three bands simultaneously, and a cost-effective Wi-Fi 7/Bluetooth combo chip alternative for client devices. The enterprise Wi-Fi AP platform now integrates Bluetooth and Zigbee/802.15.4 support to cater to IoT requirements. Sampling for the new silicon is already underway, and we should be seeing more attractively-priced Wi-Fi 7 products in a couple of quarters.
