Amazon kicks off UK drone tests from Darlington ahead of delivery rollout
TL;DR
Amazon has begun limited test flights of its MK30 delivery drones from its Darlington base as it prepares a UK airborne delivery service later this year. The program is in testing and not yet open to customers; the drones are designed to avoid obstacles and continuously monitor airspace to ensure safety, with eligible Darlington residents potentially receiving packages under five pounds within about two hours once launched.
