Anduril Unveils Thunder: Autonomous Rotorcraft to Support Crewed Attack Helos

Anduril debuted Thunder, a Group 5 autonomous attack rotorcraft designed to operate with current and future crewed attack helicopters, featuring a tilt-rotor, hybrid-electric powertrain and modular payload bays for missiles, electronic warfare gear, rockets and counter-UAS. It is designed to fight alongside crewed platforms or independently, supports missions from fire support and ISR to maritime patrol and anti-submarine warfare, and uses Lattice for Mission Autonomy to coordinate formations without pilot input. Thunder aims for a first flight in 2027, with pricing not disclosed.
