Elon Musk Files Lawsuit Against OpenAI and CEO Sam Altman for Breach of Contract and Profit Prioritization

Elon Musk is suing OpenAI and its CEO Sam Altman, alleging that the company breached its promise to be a non-profit organization focused on benefiting humanity by pursuing profits, particularly through a multibillion-dollar alliance with Microsoft. The lawsuit claims that OpenAI kept the design of its most advanced AI model, GPT-4, a secret. Musk, who co-founded OpenAI in 2015, stepped down from its board in 2018. Altman, who was fired by OpenAI's former board last year, returned with a new initial board. OpenAI's chatbot, ChatGPT, became the fastest-growing software application in the world within six months of its launch in November 2022.
