Elon Musk's Controversial Remarks on AI Czar Role of Kamala Harris and Vice President

Elon Musk mocked Vice President Kamala Harris' appointment as the White House's "AI czar" and suggested that the administration should select a qualified specialist such as British computer scientist Geoffrey Hinton, who is considered the godfather of AI. Musk has been calling for AI regulation and signed a letter with Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak and others in March that asked for a six-month moratorium on training AI systems more powerful than OpenAI's GPT-4. The Democratic administration has announced an investment of $140 million to establish seven new AI research institutes.
