Former ByteDance Exec Accuses Company of Stealing Data and Giving China Special Access to TikTok User Data.

Former ByteDance executive, Yintao "Roger" Yu, has filed a lawsuit against the company claiming that the Chinese Communist Party had a "backdoor channel" inside the company that gave it "supreme access" to all data generated by the TikTok app. Yu also accused ByteDance of stealing content from Instagram and Snapchat, faking user metrics, and helping to spread propaganda from the CCP. ByteDance denies the allegations and says it will vigorously fight the lawsuit. Yu's claims contradict ByteDance's recent letter to Congress, which claimed that it has never shared U.S. user data with the Chinese government.
