"Getty Images Dives Deep into Generative AI"

Getty Images has launched its own AI photo-generation tool called Generative AI, which is paywalled on the Getty.com website and available through an API. The tool, trained on hundreds of millions of Getty Images using Nvidia's model architecture, Edify, is designed for commercial use and allows users to generate new images based on prompts. Getty has cleared the legal rights to the photos used for training and promises customers indemnification under its royalty-free licensing agreements. However, concerns about fair compensation for photographers and the ethical use of AI models trained on copyrighted material remain.
