Iranian strikes erase customer data from Amazon data centers

Iranian drone strikes damaged Amazon Web Services data centers in Bahrain and the UAE, leading AWS to confirm permanent loss of some customer data hosted there and indicating that resources in the affected zones cannot be restored. AWS advised customers to migrate workloads to other regions, noted ongoing infrastructure replacement, and had already issued about $150 million in customer credits for affected users, with restoration planned over the coming months.
