Terafab: Musk's Texas megafactory aims to be world's largest building

Elon Musk’s SpaceX and Tesla will build Terafab, a Texas-based chip-manufacturing megafactory spanning more than 100 million square feet in Grimes County, reportedly the largest building by floor area. The first phase is projected to cost about $16.8 billion and will create around 3,000 local jobs, with the facility supplying semiconductors for Tesla’s Optimus robots and SpaceX data centers. SpaceX argues demand for chips will outpace global supply, justifying a domestically built fab, while a render shows twin wings and a central road forming the complex.
