ChatGPT, a new AI model, is being tested for use in cybersecurity. It can automate tasks, assist in building and fine-tuning new ideas, and amplify security efforts. However, there are limitations to its usefulness, and it cannot replace human decision-making. AI is an important tool that can alleviate repetitive and mundane tasks, and provide instructional aid for less experienced security professionals. While we have barely scratched the surface of possibilities for how ChatGPT and other ML/AI models will transform cybersecurity practices, it is important to address the uneasiness it has generated.
