Threads: Legal Battle with Twitter Over Meta's App

Twitter has threatened to sue Meta, the parent company of Facebook, over its new social media app Threads, accusing Meta of stealing trade secrets and intellectual property. Twitter's Executive Chairman Elon Musk tweeted about the potential lawsuit, stating that competition is fine but cheating is not. Meta denies the accusations, stating that none of the Threads engineering team are former Twitter employees. Instagram chief Alex Heath clarified that Threads is not meant to replace Twitter but aims to be a "less angry place for conversations." Threads reached 70 million sign-ups as of Friday morning, according to Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg.
