Uber is launching a new service for teenagers in several major cities, allowing parents and guardians to add teenage riders to their Uber accounts under a family profile. The program is designed for teens aged 13 to 17 and includes safety measures such as background checks on drivers, real-time tracking, and encrypted audio recording of the entire trip. Uber partnered with the nonprofit Safe Kids Worldwide to address safety concerns around the service. The service is launching in 28 metropolitan areas across the U.S. and Canada.
