VMware and NVIDIA have expanded their partnership to prepare enterprises for the era of generative AI. The VMware Private AI Foundation with NVIDIA will allow enterprises to customize models and run generative AI applications, such as chatbots and assistants. The platform will feature generative AI software and accelerated computing from NVIDIA, built on VMware Cloud Foundation and optimized for AI. It aims to provide data privacy, security, and control while enabling enterprises to harness the power of generative AI. The platform is expected to include integrated AI tools, privacy features, choice in building and running models, performance optimization, scalability, cost efficiency, and accelerated storage and networking. Dell Technologies, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, and Lenovo will support the platform, offering systems with NVIDIA GPUs, DPUs, and SmartNICs. VMware intends to release the VMware Private AI Foundation with NVIDIA in early 2024.
