In an all-hands meeting, Mark Zuckerberg laid out Meta's plans for artificial intelligence, the metaverse, and rebooting the company's culture. He explained the recent layoffs and how Meta's work in AI would blend with its plans for the metaverse. Zuckerberg also detailed plans for AI assistants that aid people across all Meta's apps, including WhatsApp, Messenger, and Instagram. The company is betting heavily on open-source technology to democratize access to AI. Zuckerberg defended Meta's strategy, saying open-source software enables greater outside scrutiny of the technology. He also took a swipe at Apple's recently announced Vision Pro headset.
