From Artist to Guardian: A Day in the Life at the Met.

Greg Kwiatek, a former night guard at the Metropolitan Museum of Art for 25 years, is now exhibiting his paintings at Fierman Gallery in New York. Kwiatek's work is inspired by the paintings he guarded at the museum, and he learned how to look for hidden subtleties in paintings during his time there. His paintings are quiet and understated, often featuring repeated versions of the same image. Kwiatek's work has been exhibited periodically, and he has won several grants, including ones from the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Fellowship and the Pollock-Krasner Foundation.
