Shane Gillis Reflects on SNL Firing in Monologue
TL;DR
Comedian Shane Gillis, who was fired from "Saturday Night Live" in 2019 before ever appearing on the show due to resurfaced podcast segments containing offensive language, hosted the show and briefly mentioned his firing in his opening monologue, urging the audience not to Google it. Gillis, who has since found success in standup and podcasting, did not take a scorched-earth approach and instead suggested that both he and "S.N.L." were better off following separate trajectories.
