TL;DR

Veteran journalist Anderson Cooper will leave 60 Minutes after nearly 20 years, citing a desire to spend more time with his young children as CBS News undergoes leadership changes under editor Bari Weiss. The move highlights ongoing questions about editorial independence at CBS News; Cooper will continue his CNN program under a long-standing CBS arrangement, having recently covered topics from COVID long-haulers to a wreck linked to the last U.S. slave ship near Mobile, Alabama.
