Gap is seeking over $2 million from Kanye West to cover potential damages and attorneys' fees in a lawsuit filed by Art City Center, the commercial real estate company that owns the building where a leased Yeezy storefront was allegedly modified without permission. Gap claims that all changes were made by West without their approval and that their contract states they are not liable for any claims brought due to Yeezy's acts or omissions. West abruptly terminated his partnership with Gap in September 2022, alleging that the brand breached their agreement by not releasing apparel as planned or opening stores.
