Daveigh Chase, The Ring and Lilo & Stitch star, dies at 35

Daveigh Chase, the actress who played Samara in The Ring and voiced Lilo in Disney’s Lilo & Stitch, has died at 35 from meningitis and a bloodstream infection that led to sepsis, after a hospitalization for malnutrition. Born in Las Vegas in 1990, she also appeared in Donnie Darko (as Samantha Darko) and voiced Chihiro in the English dub of Spirited Away, with later roles on Sabrina the Teenage Witch and Big Love; she retired from acting in 2015 and later faced legal run-ins.
