Daveigh Chase leaves roughly $400K estate as probate proceeds
Former child star Daveigh Chase, known for voicing Lilo in Lilo & Stitch and playing Samara in The Ring, died June 16 at 35 after years of drug addiction and homelessness. Probate filings in Los Angeles show she left about $400,000 in personal property and died without a will; her mother has filed to administer the estate, with a probate hearing set for Aug. 12. The Los Angeles County medical examiner later ruled AIDS as the primary cause of death, with chronic polysubstance use listed as a significant condition, clarifying earlier reports of meningitis.
