Peacock Announces Price Hike to Offset Losses

NBCUniversal is raising the monthly prices for its streaming service, Peacock, for the first time since its launch in 2020. Starting next month, the price of Peacock Premium (with ads) will increase by $1 to $5.99 per month, while Peacock Premium Plus (mostly commercial-free) will rise by $2 to $11.99 per month. The price hike is aimed at allowing NBCU to invest in content and improve the user experience while remaining competitive in the market. Other streaming services, including Disney+, Paramount+, Max, and YouTube TV, have also recently increased their prices. Peacock currently has 22 million subscribers and offers a wide range of content, including movies, TV shows, live sports, and original series.
