"Almodóvar's Gay Western Stars Pascal and Hawke"
TL;DR
Pedro Almodóvar's new short film "Strange Way of Life" starring Ethan Hawke and Pedro Pascal, set in the Wild West, will premiere at the Cannes Film Festival. The film is a reflection of Almodóvar's age and features middle-aged gay men looking back at their lives. The director sees the film as an answer to "Brokeback Mountain," which he turned down two decades ago. The short film is discreet in its portrayal of sexual tension, with the focus on the conversation between the two characters.
