Donnie Yen's Blind Hero Revived in John Wick 4.
TL;DR
The concept of the "blind warrior" in pop culture originated with the Japanese swordsman Zatoichi, who was portrayed in a series of films and TV shows. The archetype has since been adapted and reimagined in various genres, including horror, sci-fi, and action films. The latest entry in the John Wick franchise, Chapter 4, features martial arts superstar Donnie Yen as a blind adversary paying tribute to the enduring archetype.
